Situated
in the highlands of Languedoc, in the center of the triangle formed
by Beziers-Bedarieux-Pezenas.
Sheltered by the foothills of the Cevennes, the final natural barrier
before the Mediterranean sea, the Faugeres vineyards are set on steep,
south-facing slopes, dominated by the Pic de la Coquillade (700 m )
and looking over the Beziers plain.
The
Faugeres Appellation is formed by:

communes: Autignac, Cabrerolles, Caussiniojouls,
Faugères, Fos, Laurens, Roquessels.
The
hamlets of Lenthéric, La Liquière,
Aigues-Vives (commune de Cabrerolles).

Size
of the area: 5500 hectares
Size
of the AOC wine-growing area: 2000 hectares
Quality
is the fundamental goal in Faugeres. That is why "noble" grape varieties
predominate: Mourvèdre, Syrah,
Grenache, Cinsault,
Carignan.
