THE FAUGERES APPELLATION AREA

Situated in the highlands of Languedoc, in the center of the triangle formed by Beziers-Bedarieux-Pezenas.
Sheltered by the foothills of the Cevennes, the final natural barrier before the Mediterranean sea, the Faugeres vineyards are set on steep, south-facing slopes, dominated by the Pic de la Coquillade (700 m ) and looking over the Beziers plain.

The Faugeres Appellation is formed by:

7 communes: Autignac, Cabrerolles, Caussiniojouls, Faugères, Fos, Laurens, Roquessels.
The hamlets of Lenthéric, La Liquière, Aigues-Vives (commune de Cabrerolles).

Size of the area: 5500 hectares

Size of the AOC wine-growing area: 2000 hectares

Quality is the fundamental goal in Faugeres. That is why "noble" grape varieties predominate: Mourvèdre, Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, Carignan.
